If there is one phrase that could best describe the film ‘Dead Poets Society’ it would have to be “an emotional rollercoaster”. What the film makers have definitely done with the film is nourished the film with enough drama to last you a lifetime; so be prepared for some life changing dialogues and touching scenes.
The story of the film might not be a very new and revolutionary plot; an inspirational poetry teacher and his class of devoted students is essentially what the film is about. The period that the film takes place in is the 1950’s and is about the hardships faced by students in an all-male boarding school, the obstacles that many students have to face with pursuing a career in the arts and how all this leads to the establishment of a secret literary society that they call The Dead poets Society. Above all else is perhaps the fact that the degree of acting proficiency is brilliant in the film, new comers then – Ethan Hawke and Robert Sean Leonard had their platform to prove their worth not to mention that Robin Williams had an outstanding role to play in one of his few dramas, as the student’s Literature teacher. |
