It is basically an independent documentary film, which says that the mainstream science establishment controls academics who say that they can find evidence of intelligent design in nature,

who criticize the evolution evidence, and who think that the modern evolutionary synthesis is just a conspiracy to make sure God stays out of the classrooms and science laboratories.
The documentary portrays the theory of evolution as contributing to abortion, fascism, communism, atheism, eugenics, and the Nazi Holocaust. It basically states that the intelligent design is not motivated by religion; rather it is motivated by science, though there is not much scientific explanation involved.

Ben Stein provides the narration throughout, and visits many universities to interview people who make claims about intelligent design and also evolutionary scientists.
