Yes, the first thought that probably comes to mind when you watch the trailers of ‘The Emperor’s Club’ would be that you’ve seen it somewhere before and if you have a sharp memory then the film that is going to strike you first would be ‘Dead Poets Society’ and believe you me you would not be the first person to think in those lines.

However, the truth of the matter that you will discover soon when you watch the film would be that this one is actually quite different from what you thought it was. This film too is about a teacher and his troublesome students but the way that it essentially differs from ‘Dead poets society’ is that ‘The Emperor’s Club’ deals with the learning process of the teacher himself and how he discovers the lessons one can learn from his own students instead of the other way around and the process of growth that a teacher also faces many a times. In this film, it is the teacher who is stuffy and learns to loosen up with the help of his students. Although the film wasn’t as big a success as some other teacher-student films were but surely it is a sweet film that will do you good to watch. Also, look out for the twist that takes place towards the end of the film, that takes place in the reunion of the particular class which is how the film started in the first place.
